Mark Segal serves as a Visual Arts Teacher at Darrow, bringing a wealth of experience in art instruction, art history, and professional artistry to the classroom. With an impressive academic foundation in painting and illustration, Mark is passionate about inspiring creativity and helping students develop their unique artistic voices.

Mark’s career spans international and domestic roles that have enriched his teaching perspective. He previously served as an AP Art and Design Teacher at Hangzhou High School International Division in China, where he guided students in building technical skills and fostering creative expression. Mark also worked as an Instructor of Art and Art History at Paier College of Art, his alma mater, and as an Instructor of Chinese Brush Painting for Hamden Adult Education in Connecticut. His time as an Artist in Residence at the Deyu Porcelain Workshop in Jingdezhen, China—one of the world's most renowned ceramic centers—further deepened his expertise and artistic practice.

As an accomplished artist and educator, Mark brings an exceptional combination of technical knowledge, global experience, and cultural insight to Darrow’s Visual Arts program. He is dedicated to providing students with a supportive environment where they can explore diverse artistic techniques, refine their craft, and grow as individuals through creative expression.
