Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Management, Florida State University Emily Curro serves as the new Performing Arts Chair and Theater Director at Darrow, where she brings a wealth of experience in theater production, management, and education. With a strong academic foundation in musical theatre, English literature, and theater management, Emily combines her creative expertise with her passion for mentoring and inspiring students in the performing arts. Before joining Darrow, Emily established an impressive career in the performing arts industry. She co-founded and served as Producing Director of the Troy Foundry Theater in Troy, NY, where she played a pivotal role in creating innovative and community-focused theatrical productions. Additionally, Emily held key leadership positions, including Development and Marketing Director and Interim Executive Director at The Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, NY, and Director of Marketing and Development at the Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, MA. She also worked as the Associate Director of Marketing and Development at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, where she contributed to the success of one of the nation’s premier summer theater programs. Emily’s extensive experience in arts leadership, coupled with her dedication to fostering creative expression, makes her an invaluable leader of Darrow’s performing arts program. As the Performing Arts Chair and Theater Director, she is committed to providing students with dynamic opportunities to develop their artistic talents, collaborate with peers, and engage in meaningful storytelling through the transformative power of theater. |
