Ray Pennucci, known to many as "Coach Pooch," serves as the Associate Athletic Director, Head Coach of the AA Prep Basketball Team, and Meacham House Parent at Darrow. With over 25 years of coaching experience, Coach Pooch brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication, and passion to the school’s athletic and residential life programs. Ray’s coaching journey began at the public school level, where he led teams in football, basketball, and baseball. His love for sports and mentorship later brought him to South Kent Prep, where he coached all three sports on a voluntary basis while simultaneously working in the private sector. This experience deepened his commitment to working with young athletes and fostering their development both on and off the field. In 2010, Ray transitioned to a full-time career coaching AAA basketball, where his expertise and leadership helped countless athletes reach their full potential. Now at Darrow, Coach Pooch continues to inspire student-athletes by emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and resilience. His commitment to building strong relationships with students and creating a supportive environment has made him an integral part of the Darrow community. |
