Dan holds an MPA from UNC Chapel Hill, a BA in political science from Moravian University, and is a member of the Darrow class of 1992. and has worked as a public relations and crisis communications professional with 20 years of experience at the highest levels of the federal, campaign, and non-profit sectors. He put his expertise to work for us this past winter as co-founder and spokesperson for the Save Darrow campaign, the grassroots effort that mobilized dozens of alums and faculty to save the school. In 2017, Dan founded DC-based crisis communications firm Anchorage Partners, providing corporate and private clients with reputational repair. His leadership roles with the Department of State, the Department of Justice, the Environmental Protection Agency, AmeriCorps, and as the Director of Public Engagement for the US Agency for International Development, all appointed by the President, reflect his extensive experience and commitment to public service. He has also played key roles in six presidential campaigns and led White House Advance teams across the country and around the world. He is a mentor, a children's book author, and has recently finished his first novel, "Ghost of the Mountain Kings," based in Darrow. Dan's commitment to Darrow is further demonstrated by his recent appointment to the Board of Trustees. He lives in the DC area with his wife and two children.
