Students interested in studying film at Darrow can take a year-long course designed to immerse participants in all things film. In the first semester, the class watches important films with a critical eye, examining a variety of historically significant work and analyzing what makes them special in order to write their own screenplays for production.
Students work hard to produce short narrative films from scratch, including the operation of camera and sound equipment, as well as acting, editing, and pre-production. The experience is punctuated by the Narrative Film Festival, a screening of the class's work for the entire community, open to the public.
