Home away from home
"Being a day student has its perks! You get to escape from your parents when you need to!" —Emet '22
The friendships between our students make it nearly impossible to tell who is a day student or a boarder. As a day student, you're a fully integrated member of the Darrow community! Welcome to stay overnight with friends, participate in evening and weekend events, and have meals in the dining hall.
Since our day community is relatively small, day students are part of a tight-knit group that values a rigorous education with a strong sense of community. And, like our boarding students, day students have the total investment of Darrow faculty and staff!
"As a day student, you get to experience the best of both worlds!"

Day students must participate in all aspects of the regular school program, including athletics, Hands-to-Work, community meals, and the Tuesday Community Program. They are encouraged to participate fully in the overall program at the Darrow School.
Buses are available to provide transportation for enrolled students living within a certain distance of Darrow—Contact your local school district to learn more! We also find that many Day Students will carpool together.
"I feel part of a community with my fellow day students."—Kai '25
